Brenda Ahern
Clown Performer & Educator

Brenda Ahern began her clowning career at University of Wisconsin/ La Crosse in 1983 with a class instructed by Dr. Richard Snowberg, the founder of Clown Camp. She has been active with Clown Camp since 1984, the past twelve years as a staff instructor. In 1987, after receiving her Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Brenda was chosen to attend Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. This was the celebrated 20th Anniversary Clown College class. Brenda appeared prominently in the CBS Special that featured her graduation. Offered a contract, Brenda traveled throughout the United States for two years with "The Greatest Show On Earth" Blue Unit. Along with clowning, Brenda also found time to tutor adults and children on the show.

Since leaving the sawdust trail behind in 1989, Brenda is now a fourth grade teacher in the School District of La Crosse. With her contagiously bubbly clown character and her signature "cow print" costume, Brenda can also be found happily performing and presenting workshops for children at libraries and schools, as well as presenting at Professional Educator Conferences on how to incorporate Clowning and Circus Across the Curriculum.
